Rod Star (born Roderick Stevens) is an English musician and producer. He is known for his work with The Fables, and as a member of Dying Street.
Stevens started out his career with The Fables as their guitarist. He was also the main producer of their albums. He left in early 2019, stating that he wants to pursue solo career.
In August 2017, he sold the rights for his demo song "Action" to Dying Street for $200. He also produced the song and paid the recording fees.
Rod Star on selling the song to Dying Street:
"I kinda wanted to help out the underground scene by selling my demo songs that I was too lazy to finish. I chose Dying Street because I found them pretty much interesting, they were also fresh on the limelight."
In June 2020, Dying Street announced that Rod Star signed the contract with the band. He was hired as their bassist and producer.
Roderick on his career with Dying Street:
"Stefanovic called me on the phone and he asked me to join Dying Street. He even offered me a big amount of money to be with them and I said that I don't care about the money, I just wanted to be a part of stable and healthy band. David promised me and he made an appointment with managers. The process was so quick and I signed my duty."
Roderick appeared on 4 studio albums which he also produced. He stayed in the band until the breakup in April 2024. He was also a special guest on their tour several times. During his stint, the band enjoyed great success in the Americas and Europe. Their success later expanded to Australia and Asia, especially in South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
He was the official member of 30th Anniversary line-up in 2047. Before joining, he was the part of SCECS, Stefanovic's Dying Street project.
